The Pros (What we liked!)
Format: The trend today is to throw everything including the kitchen sink into online courses. John Piteo in WordPress Crash Course bucked the trend and came up with an approach that simply works.
First, he got rid of the “fluff” and teaches you what you really need to get up and running on WordPress FAST! John realizes that it’s quality not quantity that counts! And WordPress Crash Course is quality!
Second, he kept the videos short. Though there are over 2 hours of quality video training, John broke the course down into small bite size chunks. Each video targets a specific topic and when the topic is covered the video is over – short and sweet.
It’s really nice to be able to watch a lesson and not feel trapped at my computer screen. The longest video in the core program is just over eleven minutes long.
But what I really like is being able to go back to the course and re-watch a video devoted to a specific topic to help me solve a problem.
Presentation: If you’ve been reading Target Reviews, then you know that a pet peeve of mine are instructors that can’t control the mouse pointer. They move the mouse pointer around the screen at the speed of light, shaking it in circles, wiggling it around, etc.
John Piteo’s presentation is refreshing. He moves the mouse pointer only when it needs to be moved. No sudden jerks. No wiggling or shaking of the mouse. He goes just the right speed – not too slow to bore you, but not too fast to lose you!

I’m not sure where John learned his skills but he is certainly a master!

The Cons (What we didn’t like!)
No Video Downloads: The sales page by Crash Course Training clearly states that this is an online training course. A very reasonable one time payment gives you unlimted access to all 34 videos; there are no monthly membership fees.
Please be aware that unlimited access generally means “for the lifetime of the website”.
No Sequel: When you produce something as good as WordPress Crash Course, you have to have a sequel! Don’t you? I’ll Google it…
